TEAMING UP WITH THE KNIGHTS
This fall, the Holy Gears put on our red shirts and joined the Knights of Columbus for their annual Tootsie Roll drive. You’ve probably seen the Knights outside local businesses each year, raising money for programs that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Why the Knights?
The Knights of Columbus are known for service, generosity, and faith in action. Partnering with them gave our robotics students a chance to step outside the workshop and experience what community outreach looks like in another form. Even though our team doesn’t receive the proceeds from the Tootsie Roll drive, the Knights have committed to supporting us in other ways—and the experience of helping with their mission was valuable in itself.
Side by Side
Standing shoulder to shoulder with the Knights, our students learned how service builds community. Every smile, every “thank you,” and every dollar collected reminded us that giving time and effort matters just as much as financial support.
Why the Holy Gears?
Because robotics isn’t just about robots. It’s about raising up leaders who know how to serve, communicate, and inspire. When organizations like the Knights of Columbus open the door for our students to help, it reinforces the idea that STEM skills and servant leadership go hand in hand.
Looking Ahead
The Knights showed us what it means to serve with heart, and we’re grateful for their partnership. Together, we’re proving that community and innovation can power each other forward.
A huge thank you to the Knights of Columbus for letting us team up with you! We’re grateful for the chance to serve alongside you and to be part of the good you’re doing in our community.🤗🤗
