Pellston Qualifier: Innovation, Alliances, and Lessons Learned ⚙️🏆

Holy Gears had another fantastic showing at the Pellston FTC Qualifier, filled with strong performances, great partnerships, and valuable learning experiences.

We are incredibly proud to share that Holy Gears earned the 1st Place Innovate Award! 🏆

This award recognizes creative design, thoughtful engineering, and the innovation behind our robot—and it was an exciting validation of the hard work our students have put in all season.

During alliance selection, Holy Gears was chosen as the 3rd alliance pick and proudly partnered with the Oakview CyberDragons, FTC#8580. Together, we worked our way into the Semi-Finals once again, showing solid teamwork, strategy, and communication on the field.

In true FTC fashion, the semi-final match gave us an unforgettable learning moment—when the opposing alliance accidentally turned on our robot’s power switch during the match. 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

While that unexpected moment kept us from advancing to the final round, it taught our team an important lesson about robot design, protection, and competition readiness.

Even without a finals appearance, the Pellston Qualifier was a huge success for Holy Gears. Our team demonstrated resilience, innovation, and gracious professionalism—and walked away smarter, stronger, and even more motivated.
