Gearing Up for Qualifier: The Holy Gears in Full Prep Mode! ⚙️🔥
The Holy Gears have been busy, busy, busy these past few weeks as we prepared for our November qualifier — and our classroom has basically transformed into a full robotics workshop!
From building to brainstorming to practicing our presentation, every single team member rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
⚙️ Building Our Pit Board & Team Display
Our pit board came together piece by piece — quite literally.
Students helped stain, seal, and assemble the giant wooden gear board that will showcase our robot photos, outreach highlights, and team headshots.
The kids took such pride in placing their photos, sanding the wood, and helping make sure every detail looked perfect. Their teamwork and craftsmanship show through in every inch of it.
🤖 Hours of Robot Testing & Tuning
Meanwhile, the robot lab was buzzing.
Our builders and programmers spent countless hours testing intakes, fine-tuning autonomous, and practicing stacking and scoring. Every improvement came through experimentation, teamwork, and a lot of laughs.
Seeing the robot come alive — and watching our drivers grow more confident each day — has been incredible.

The team lined up at the front of the classroom, scripts in hand, rehearsing their lines, working on speaking clearly, and learning how to present as one unified group. They took feedback like pros and improved with every run-through.
Their excitement was contagious — they knew their story mattered, and they wanted to tell it well.
